Size and Format
The display boards are A0 sized and in portrait orientation. The exact dimensions of the boards are 87 cm x 117 cm.
Schedule
The poster session will be on Monday from 17:00 - 19:30, but posters will be displayed throughout the meeting. Please do remember to take it down when you depart or we will recycle it.
Flash presentation
Poster presenters will have the opportunity to make a “flash presentation” about your work prior to the start of the actual poster session. You will have one minute and one slide. These limits will be strictly enforced. The session chair will introduce you and your poster title (also displayed on screen), advance the display to your slide and then your minute starts.
If you wish to do this, please send your slide to dsfd2015-info [at] ed [dot] ac [dot] uk (subject: DSFD%202015) by 5th July, taking note of the format requirements below.
Flash presentation slide format:
Slides must have only static content (no movies, animations, etc). Please don’t overload the slide with details that you cannot explain within one minute.
We strongly prefer PDF format as this is the only guarantee that graphics and fonts etc will be correctly reproduced. Please do ensure it is in landscape format (the standard slide layout, 4:3 aspect ratio, is ideal). You can do this using e.g. LaTeX Beamer, or use the export function from PowerPoint. If this is impossible, we can try to convert from PowerPoint, Keynote, or OpenOffice to PDF, but this may lead to undesireable or aesthetically unpleasing results.
Local printing
We are aware that travelling internationally with a poster tube can be difficult. So you may prefer to have the poster printed in Edinburgh. The local print shop will print an A0 poster for £20.

During the ordering process you need to select Edinburgh as branch, give a local contact number and address, your job instructions (A0 paper size, orientation, paper quality and type, number of prints, etc) and arrange a pick up time on Monday.
